_overview
The intergovernmental agency initiated and implemented a comprehensive overhaul of their data evaluation platform utilized throughout their operational procedures. The platform, previously outdated and poorly executed, underwent a complete transformation. Prior to the revamp, users were limited by a lack of clarity regarding available tools, with functionality varying depending on the chosen package. Through the revamped platform, users now have the capability to seamlessly enter, select, and analyze data and associated attributes. The previous inefficiencies, characterized by time wasted navigating nested structures and cumbersome screen layouts, have been addressed. The revamped platform eliminates these hindrances, enabling efficient monitoring, scheduling, and analysis of various parameters, thereby streamlining the agency's business processes.

_problems
Bureaucratic Hurdles
  • Complex decision-making processes.
  • Lengthy approval cycles for even minor changes.
  • Navigating through layers of hierarchy for project approvals.
Confidentiality Concerns
  • Strict protocols and measures to handle confidential data.
  • Limited access to certain information, which may impact project progress.
  • High scrutiny and scrutiny over data security practices force us to work like ‘blind coding’.
Change Management
  • Employees may resist changes to established processes.
  • Overcoming the inertia associated with corporate culture.
  • Ensuring that proposed changes align with the organization's values.
_research and development
Prior to embarking on the revamp project, extensive research was conducted to identify the shortcomings of the existing data evaluation platform and to understand user needs and preferences. This research involved gathering feedback from stakeholders within the intergovernmental agency, including analysts, administrators, and decision-makers. Surveys, interviews, and usability tests were conducted to gain insights into user frustrations, pain points, and desired features. Additionally, market research was conducted to analyze industry best practices and emerging technologies in data evaluation platforms. The findings from this research phase provided invaluable guidance in shaping the objectives and scope of the revamp project.

_visual design
In redesigning the data evaluation platform, I worked closely with Matija, the Lead Project Manager, to improve the visual design. My focus was on enhancing user experience and efficiency by creating a clean, intuitive interface that prioritized ease of navigation and accessibility of tools. I carefully selected visual elements such as color schemes, typography, and iconography to ensure clarity and consistency throughout the platform. I iteratively developed and refined wireframes and mockups based on user feedback to align with user preferences and usability standards. The resulting visual design not only modernized the platform's aesthetic but also contributed to a more enjoyable and productive user experience.
_summary
The revamp of the intergovernmental agency's data evaluation platform represents a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness. Through meticulous research and collaboration, the project addressed the limitations of the existing platform and introduced a revamped solution tailored to meet user needs and industry standards. By leveraging insights from stakeholders and incorporating best practices in visual design, the revamped platform offers improved functionality, usability, and accessibility.
